As President of Trend Micro, Wael is responsible for strategic direction and corporate investments. Previously, he served as executive vice president of global field operations. Wael joined Trend Micro as a result of the acquisition of Third Brigade, a company he co-founded and led as President and CEO since its inception.
Prior to Third Brigade, Wael was VP of global sales and distribution for Zix Corporation, where he built a successful field operation that propelled the company to become a market leader. He also held senior management positions with Entrust, where he established an extensive network of affiliate partners operating in 32 countries. Wael has also held several key management positions at IBM global services.
Wael has a Bachelor of Computer Science from Dalhousie University, holds the Information System Professional of Canada designation, has completed the Queen's Graduate School of Business Executive Program and attended the Harvard Business School Executive Education "Making Corporate Boards More Effective".
